Hope Auckland Camp
Hope Auckland Christian Church recently held their annual church camp and were incredibly honored to have our President, Pastor Simon Eng join us. This year, the theme was "Identity - Where the heart is". We focused on our movement's core values and took the opportunity to challenge people to develop both church and movement identity. The teaching sessions were convicting and inspiring with many responding the call to church-planting. The Great Commission has also become clear to many as a result of Pastor Simon's teachings.
A mighty of the Spirit of God was experienced, including words of knowledge, healing and prophecy. God was also faithful even in seemingly small things, holding up the weather on Saturday afternoon through out our games and till the end of the camp fire. It was exciting to see bonds being built between people across and within life groups and we believe a stronger family atmosphere has been established in our multi-cultural church.
Many benefited enormously from the time spent fellowshipping with Pastor Simon and have spoken of their respect and gratefulness for him. Perhaps most exciting of all is the life change that occurred at the camp. We have seen new confidence, determination and vision in our people as well as fresh ownership for this church. The church has truly been taken to a new level!

Hi! I am Caroline from Hope Canberra. In the last six months, we have seen God move mightily and seeing great and exciting things happening. We started our second centre in September last year at Queanbeyan. We have seen it grow and flourish and reaching out to people from different backgrounds, particularly Filipinos. Also at the Canberra city centre, we have seen it grow and stabilise independently. It has allowed us to build up our praise and worship teams at both centres allowing them to both run well and we are reaping the results.

We also saw the young adults and students groups really grow. They have been putting posters up around the Australian National University campus leading to many contacts and seeing people coming to church and knowing the Lord; growing and rising up. We are really excited about what is happening and we look forward to the next few months and seeing what God is going to do as our two centres continue to stabilise. People continue to come in and we continue to reach out.
Please pray for us over the next few months that we might see more musicians, more praise and worship leaders coming to church and rising up. Also we want to be people that are bold and passionate about evangelism and seeing people being saved both in Canberra and Queanbeyan and people coming to know the Lord. Thank you.

Hello! My name is Nonoi. I am from Hope Queanbeyan. It is located between the borders of New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory. We have one church with two centres. We have our morning service in Canberra and an afternoon service at the Queanbeyan centre.

Hello, I am Gina and I am Nonoi’s wife. We started our Queanbeyan centre in September 2009. It has been almost six months now. We praise and thank God because He is bringing people from different nations. We have an Australian couple, an African family and quite a few Filipino families at our service. Different things are happening and we meet every week. We now have two family life groups. We look forward to really seeing God building and growing these two life groups; not only numerically, but spiritually in each individual’s life.
We praise God for bringing in people to join our praise and worship team. We have keyboardists and guitarists. Even more, they were part of one family and now each member is involved in a ministry. We are really thankful and we want to praise God for his work. When we come back from the 2010 Oceania Convention, we will be starting our evangelism outreach on weekends starting on Saturday afternoon which will fire our Sunday service up. We know that God will truly use us during that Saturday to reach out and give out tracts, invite people, evangelise and spread the Good News. Praise God!
We are also running a Friday prayer meeting. It is one of the key events held at Queanbeyan. We always kneel down in prayer and ask God for His direction. I believe it is God leading us right now at Queanbeyan. We are all so excited. We just want to show this picture: this is who we are now in Queanbeyan. I think the tremendous influx of growth at our Queanbeyan centre is because of the power of prayer. I just want to encourage people out there who are afraid of starting a new centre or planting a new church – we just have to rely on the power of God and ask God for His direction.
I like to invite people, especially if you are in Canberra or near Queanbeyan, come visit us and you will see the fantastic moving of the Holy Spirit that is happening right now in Queanbeyan. We want to encourage the whole movement that yes, we have a long way to go, but we are so thankful and grateful that God has called us from the Philippines to come to Australia and start a new centre in Queanbeyan. Hope Perth Family Day
The morning of Saturday, the Hope Perth family made their way to Synergy Parkland to have a big picnic and games in the park. The organising team turned the big green field into one big game station! Coloured balloons were waving! Food, snack and drink stations were quickly set up by all participants who arrived! People from all ages from babies, children, young adults, adults and seniors put on their sports gear enthusiastically and gave their best performance for the day!

The MC started the program with a word of prayer and invited Pastor Stephen to give a word of encouragement. He empowered us to keep ourselves physically fit for the Kingdom!
Our group headed to the field with a morning warm up session led by Joseph and Denise. We had a warm up session that had us stretching from head to toe to increase our heart rate and prevent sports injuries during the games.
Soon, teams were formed and each group was eager and excited as they passed through each game station; specifically set up to test the participants in their physical, team building and creativity spirit! An air of unity and bonding among the crowd was evident as each of the participants cheered the players on!
After having heaps of fun and laughter at the games, we were blessed with an array of delicious food! Families sat together in groups, children were playing together, and friends were chatting away. With happy faces and beautiful weather, a warm feeling of God’s love and presence filled the atmosphere. The day ended with the presentation of awards by our beloved pastors. We were thankful to them for bringing us such special moments!
We had fantastic feedback from our members and they requested for more of these events to be held frequently through the year! Along the line of our Life Group discussions, 1 Timothy, 4:8 in the Bible stated that “For physical training is of some value; but godliness has value for all things holding promise for both the present life and the life to come...”
With this great confidence and knowledge in the plans and purposes of God, we, as a church intend to look after our members holistically and care for our people’s health as well as covering their spiritual walk with God. We believe it is important for us to keep our bodies strong for endurance. With this perspective in mind, we can maintain a balance of fellowship with activities incorporated; making our Family Day a very attractive event for everyone.
Hope Melbourne City Healing Service
We had a blessed Mother’s Day and an awesome Healing Sunday. Hope Church Melbourne City Centre saw 170 people attending the service which included 21 children. The service started off with a time of praise, welcoming and cakes being presented to all of the mothers as a token of appreciation. During the time of worship, Peter ministered to the congregation and gave an altar call to all the mothers at the service.

As the leaders prayed for healing, restoration, directions and blessings from God for the lives of the mothers, the members were also encouraged to pray for their mothers who were not with them in Melbourne. As prayers continued, Peter Truong felt a burden to start praying for people who had cancer and back pain, illnesses to be healed and a few people were healed from their physical pains.
Peter Truong began to share a short message from Luke about his encounters with Jesus and how the Kingdom of God is alive in all who believe in Him. He challenged the congregation that what Jesus did in his life, Jesus could do in and through them.
An altar call was made for everyone to write down their prayer needs and burdens on a piece of paper, and to place them in front of the Cross at the front of the stage. It was an encouraging sight as the entire congregation rose from their seats and placed their prayers at the cross.
Ablaze Service 3rd Anniversary
The Ablaze Service was like no other on the 11th March 2010 as the worship team ascended into a grand start with roaring praise, proclaiming majesty, salvation and God’s grace all over the earnest, worshipping congregants. The red carpet was set for every young men and women in the place to walk right into the courts of praise as hearts poured out to give thanks, to joyfully reminisce and celebrate Ablaze’s 3rd Anniversary in style. That day, we were there to remember the God of Our City.
The event was a blend of everything uniquely Ablaze in commemoration of how we have been so vividly invested into and nurtured as a local church. From the glittery backdrop of an impressive graphic art brandishing strong bold fonts against a dreamy Brisbane skyline, to the slew of contesting photographs in the photo competition leading up to the Anniversary, showcasing artistic gifts of our members; there was no end to the evidence that our 100 plus strong service is simply saturated with God-ordained perspectives, callings and overflowing with talent.
Ablaze also enjoyed some light-hearted family time with a team game that instructed players to build towers from cardboard boxes. The host read out fun facts about cardboards and enriched the congregant with earth friendly information while the game proceeded, seizing moments to filter wholesome education to young people. It was a translation of the fun times families have as we cheered the players on and bonded in the simple game. There were also the precious moments of silliness, randomness that gave Ablaze a close-knitted and intimate atmosphere.
All of which are simply invaluable to the essence of Ablaze.
It was also a heartening night of thanksgiving, remembering how far God has brought us and also a night of recapturing the essence of who we are and why we exist in the city. The night was wrapped up with a commission to represent God in this place. We were challenged to impart positive flavour and exert godly influences to our schools, universities and workplaces.
We remembered why we are pro
ud to be in this city, why we are privileged to be part of God’s plan for this place and the significance that we can make with small steps, personal decisions towards obedience and cultivated desire to live more and more like Jesus in our lives.
It was a night where the strong presence of God truly graced Ablaze and enlightened us once more to our unique position in this nation. Altogether, it was an awe-inspiring event that will be remembered for the years to come.
