Hope WA Churches Camp 2010
At the Hope Western Australian (WA) Churches Camp 2010, our theme was “A Victorious Life”. All of the Hope WA churches: Hope Perth, Hope Busselton, Hope Katanning, Hope Dandaragan and Hope Esperance, had a fantastic time and experienced many amazing moments. A total of 120 people attended the camp with enthusiasm and a spiritual hunger for God’s words.
Pastor Lance and Belle blessed us tremendously with their teachings about spiritual principles and shared personal experiences where they put principles into practice. Christians can “pull down heavenly realms into the world” we are in and live in Victory over our challenges and difficulties we face in our daily lives.
There was a wonderful session on a “Victorious Family”, preached by Pastor Nigel and Sandy from Hope Busselton. In their Wittwer family vision, we learned “the higher calling of having a Family”, where obedience, love, spiritual giftings and having a servant heart are vital in carrying out the Great Commission for God’s Kingdom.
We had plenty of highlights at the camp! We had the popular bush dances, the campfire and sport activities to keep us fit and healthy. There was a special children performance by the talented Hope Children Camp.
The youth had a valuable program where Pastor Lance and Belle shared about living an abundant youth for Christ. We also had a worship concert night which brought an intense spirit-filled atmosphere of joy, love and revelations from the Lord to his children.
It has been a truly moving and groundbreaking camp for all. As is written in the Word, “in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). Pastor Stephen encouraged all of us at the closing ceremony that through God’s power we can have victory in our personal and church life.
The enthusiasm of the churches is still overflowing; 100% of the campers are already looking forward to attending our next camp gathering!
Hope Melbourne - Born To Fly program
The days took off with cars streaming into the parking lot at Brandon Park Community Centre on the cold and crisp mornings of the 1st – 3rd July 2010. Parents and children filled the registration hall where they were welcomed with big smiles by the registration team. Our program began with a big bang with 200 excited children filling the halls.
Led by various leaders, the kids memorised the 5 “I wills” of sensitivity and loyalty, and learnt the songs and cool dance moves to the songs written by our resident song and script-writer, Alicia. Characters were taught through hilarious skits performed by the skit team and story-telling by Chiann and ‘Muff’ the puppet. The art and craft sessions were among the children’s favourites, where they made loyalty badges and sculpted flower pot out of clay.
The scrumptious meals prepared by the kitchen team kept kids’ and volunteers’ tummies filled throughout the day. Elena and her posse of logistics crew were incredible pillars of support to the program. We were honoured with the presence of Mayor of the City of Monash, Mayor Charlotte Baines and a Councillor from the City of Monash, Councillor Denise McGill at the prize-giving ceremony.
A big thank you goes out to all parents who entrusted their children to us for this period and special thanks to our army of volunteers, who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the program.
Hope Auckland Healing Service & Youth Anniversary
Hope Auckland is experiencing a powerful move of God and is seeing the beginnings of revival! Healings and encounters with God are breaking out in every LG and have quickly become expected, widespread and normal with leaders, members and new believers all involved!
On the 3rd of September, eczema disappeared before our eyes after prayer on the arms of a 19 year old girl who had suffered from it since birth. The following week, based on that testimony, a 13 year old girl was healed of the same thing. An 18 year old boy was healed of a deep shoulder muscle injury at the Healing Service on the 5th of September following a word of knowledge the day before about it. Thank God for 123 people attended the Healing Service with many people came before for prayer. A man born with Polio was able to move fingers on his left hand after prayer - something he was not able to do previously! A swollen and numb foot was healed after prayer, as well as a swollen jaw, to name a few.
Generation180, Hope Auckland's youth ministry, celebrated its 5th birthday that week and what started as a birthday party turned into an awesome move of God. Every individual there had personal encounters with God, including visitors. There was one salvation that night. The following week, a sore eye, sore wrist, sore back and eczema were healed at one of the youth Life Groups and there were 4 salvations that night!
On both the 4th and 8th of September, groups of people from across church set out with Peter Truong on Treasure Hunts. Words of knowledge were received about strangers we were about to come across, including their attire, name, condition and location. Upon finding these individuals, we prayed for them and blessed them. One particular man has returned to church for 2 weeks now, has started attending life group and has even brought his fiance! Over the last two weeks, we have seen a total of 10 cross the line of faith!
There is definitely a sense of excitement and expectation here in Auckland and many have reported greater intimacy with God and revelation of His greatness and power. There is a heightened burden to impact our communities and a realisation of how easily God is able to move and use anybody! God is just so good! Written by Stephen Soh
